Keith had spend his whole life in a pound. He came to the government pound when he was a few months old, then was rescued by the local doggy rescue organisation: A no kill shelter for small dogs called Monikas Doggie Rescue. He lived there for a further 6 months. Since he has had limited people love, and has lived in a pretty competitive environment, Keith had some issues. A fear-agression response to big dogs, no idea of how to walk on a lead,and no toilet training. After about 6 months a family adopted him. Sadly, they brought him back after a few weeks as he was not right for their family. This must have been a further blow to his confidence. He just starts to get some love and attention, then BAM! Back in the frenzy of the shelter. Poor Keith.

Meanwhile, Josh and I were thinking of getting a little brother for Iggy. we live on a park, we walk Iggy 3 or 4 times a day. we thought a rescue pup might really dig this life. we went out to Monica’s and Josh fell in love with Keith straight away. monica rightly briefed us on his issues, and said if we EVER didn’t want him anymore, she’d take him. what a kind soul!

Keith came home, and Iggy and Keith were best buds from the start. Thank goodness, because the other issues would have been quite hard to deal with if they were also in conflict.

4 months later and Keith has learnt to play bow and sproings through the park on bouncy legs eager to meet new friends. He snaps sometimes at bigger dogs, but has awesome recall, so that is manageable. Thanks to woofers, belly bands and crate training has him 1 month clean from messing inside, and he and Iggy are still in love. Keith is a nervous dog who is still really a puppy, so he isn’t perfect, but we love him and he obviously loves us.

And then, on the way home, we met a lovely little slug like pug called Chloe. Iggy loved Chloe, but from the expression on Chloe’s face, we don’t think she was too sure she reciprocated.

All in all, a lovely night!

We put him outside again, and he came through again! (we actually gave him a bit of chicken for that )

He has done it once more. What a wonder-dog! He doesn’t realise he can get out the same wat yet though……

Toffee here. Today was so humid, and as it was our last Sunday here I demanded Ally and Josh take us to the beach. Of course, not just any beach would do. It needed to be a private VIP beach for someone as delicate as me, so no rif raf could approach. They had the inside knowledge on a secret city beach that only the best dogs get in to, so naturally, I had to go.

We arrived by private chauffeur.

And immediately surveyed the quality of the surrounds:

Ally and Josh then let us know that we had to go “off road” to get there. Wading and scrambling over rocks.

So Josh did what any gentleman should do…..

Then we saw the beach, and it was all that was promised! The VIP list was so exclusive, we were the only ones there! Right in the city! Who would believe it?

We had some swimming time, which I sorely needed.

But I wasn’t so sure the massive surf was for a girl like me

But then! Our idyllic beach sojourn was interrupted by some uncouth labs! Ugh!

Iggy was named my champion, and bravely fetched their stick for me from the depths.

After all that excitement, it was time to leave (and leave the riff raff).

Dis is Pi. We are really getting into the free range inner-inner west lifestyle. Ally came home and had lunch with us in the park. We be so adventurous! Even Toffee!

We DO miss you, but we are having fun too!

Iggy, on the other hand, is being quite moody. You’d think he would be more gracious that he has been replaced. I mean, just because I growl at him when he tries to get on the couch next to his mum, he is sulking under the table! Silly Boston.

Today we had an early morning walk with Ebony the boxer. She was very gentle and nice to me. I even ventured out of Ally’s legs to say hi!

Then this afternoon Pepper and flash came over, and we walked to Glebe point, and I met a teeny baby pug, who I quite liked. Iggy and Flash tore around the park like lunatics, but I pretended I didn’t know them, so I think my reputation is OK.

Anyway, I’m exhausted after all this fun. Goodnight mother!
